As a retired sociology professor, what is your understanding of how elites constructed the political identity of whiteness and how it manifests today? “Racialist” implies biology; I refer to the imposed identity we call white. “Racialist” implies fixed and innate; I refer to white, which is nothing but political power. I side with the sociologist Dr. Tressie McMillan Cottom who says the goal of antiracist work is to end whiteness. How are you accounting for the political power whites have in whiteness, and what do you suggest America do to end that political power? It sure as hell requires more than impeaching Trump. My piece provided recommendations. I hope you, as a retired sociology professor, have something to say of value.
