As far as the Republican Party, the best racist won. Trump voters included more than official Republicans. I don’t think there’s an appeal to the base of Trump voters. For the middle folks, the evidence of racism alone is so clear that either people don’t care, they are ignorant, or they are racists. I am angry at the similarities of “try harder, get a smoother, better message.” That amounts to being twice as good and I can’t. So, for me, my policy is shame or change! And, in the long battle, that change includes demographic change.
