Definitely! That reminds me of Angela Davis saying “democracy needs to be emancipated from capitalism.” And Angela Davis reminds me of Malcolm X saying, “you can’t have capitalism without racism.” And capitalism and racism remind me of Cedric Robinson’s “racial capitalism.” My argument is that Dems deal with colorism, which is no comfort. But the GOP deals in white identity, which is terrorism. White identity, which is the strongest in the GOP, maintains the status quo — which includes capitalism because white identity is a cross-class alliance tied to the capitalist class. I think much of what we see in the Democratic Party is the party not recognizing that it’s Black and not recognizing that the white party is a threat to its existence. The white party has to oppress the Black party to survive. Again, white identity is the strongest in the GOP as the white party. If Dems end the GOP politically, a great deal would change.
