Here’s my summation in full: racist countries elect racist presidents. There are many critics of Obama on the left. Some who called him an Uncle Tom. See the book How to be Less Stupid About Race and also Cornel West. So, the statement stands, despite Obama. Plus, as mentioned, white voters didn’t vote for him as a majority. Why? They’re racist. Not necessarily that they wouldn’t vote for a Black president, but because he didn’t represent white interests to them. Overall, he actually did represent white interests. In general, support for the Republican Party is certainly racist. Regardless of reason, it is cloaked in racism by design. See the books, Dog Whistle Politics and Dying of Whiteness. The pattern and practice of white elites to suppress votes is well established. See the book, One Person, No Vote by Carol Anderson. On the viewpoints of white voters, see the Pew Research Center’s Race in America Reports, and others, plus the exit polling data which shows Trump voters, mostly white, voted for and with racism. On Trump, see the numerous reports about his racism. There you can read line by line his history of racism. You can also look at who he has hired. He’s hired white supremacists. You can view the spike in hate crimes, and the spike in hate crimes where he has rallies. You can look at how he has gutted efforts to combat white terrorism. I also recommend the book Rising Out of Hatred to read how white supremacists viewed him and the laws they’ve tried to push. I originally, in the piece, provided a link that shows most Americans believe Trump is a racist. However you want to define racist and racism, most Americans think he has it. And his voters, mostly white, voted for it.
