Hi, Ben. You’ll notice that much of this piece is an observation and it plays with the word pale. I mostly add my opinions at the beginning and the end. At the end, I mention that his political support is the biggest factor. However, like you, I have issues with moderates. I’m also aware that many (most?) Black voters are moderates or moderate on certain issues. Which is another point for why the paleness of Buttigieg’s support is the most concerning. I know it can change. It will have to change, as I understand it, if he is to continue. On Obama, people want to make these comparisons to Obama and I don’t get it. Obama’s political experience was thicker than Buttigieg’s political experience. Obama was a state senator first before running as a US Senator. That’s a natural progression. It’s happened so many times. Obama was a state senator for several years. And again, “the pale” or scope counts. Obama’s jurisdiction was larger.
