Hi, Bill, I read your piece but you still miss my point. I have contempt for their tears not because they are crying but because they don’t see others crying, and others do not recognize the tears people of color have. Why is that so hard to understand? That’s not elitism. That is a call for empathy. That’s what my piece is saying. I specifically mention the Black working class too. It is appropriate to address the racism in the white working-class and the exclusive centering of their concerns. Aren’t you aware of all the deals, compromises, and exclusionary acts in US history that America created to accommodate the white working-class?! We can’t have more of that, no. Essentially, they are suffering from a loss of privilege and capitalism, but mostly a loss of privilege per the reports, studies, and surveys. Again, not sure why that’s hard to understand.
