Hi Christopher, I just looked at the study again, it’s 44 pages. It didn’t really say ‘threatening' for white gay men, whereas it did for Black men.
In general, it said there was a penalty for being “gay or Black” but not for being “gay and Black.”
There is some negative association or stereotype or feeling that creates the gay penalty for white men in the study. But that didn’t seem clear.
Some other keywords in the study were ‘double disadvantage’ and ‘offsetting.’
I agree with your points about livelihoods, big time.
