Hi, Duncan. Yep, this isn’t in the Pelosi plan. Haha! I think this piece came to me out of frustration as I heard a president, in 2019, praise Robert E. Lee. I still have a hard time accepting that an openly racist president is allowed. So, perhaps that’s what sparked this piece for me. Racism was his campaign, it drove his support, and it is his presidency. If impeachment is about cleansing the office, we should start there. Start with what made the mess. And maybe I’m also saying — hey, if you impeach him, don’t forget about this too. It won’t happen. But that is also a statement about the leaders of the Democratic Party.
