Hi Emily, I appreciate how you’ve outlined strategies! Strategies are important. I try to be practical. I’m not sure who coined the term white innocence, but it has been around for decades. When I think about the speeches and writings of activists, past and present, I see how much of it challenges white innocence. That must be important and it is an ongoing battle. I wrote in another comment that the innocence is a green light to white supremacy and it gaslights too. Thanks for mentioning the crowns. The “crowns down” remind me of humility, equity, equality, and humanness. And thank you again for all your support and sharing the piece!!! I had no idea it would connect with people in that way. You are right, people are becoming less innocent.
