The earnings will come. And, with Medium’s announcement of bonuses it really is a matter of focusing on the writing and everything else you mention to build the writing. The bonuses are not necessarily tied to metrics. It’s all about the writing.

I also echo what you wrote about topics and niches. I’ve had some pieces do really well outside of my usual subjects. Glad you shared these tips.
