Hi, Georgia, I am critical of the book now. I will share how it came to mind. I was reading the book, The History of White People, by Dr. Nell Irvin Painter. She mentioned it toward the end of her book. It clicked with me. I then read Black Like Me again. I already had it in my eBook library from 2009. Back in 2009, I remember starting the book, but not finishing the book. I don’t think I enjoyed it then, but I don’t remember exactly why. I think it was the writing. Anyway, looking at it again, ten years later, I have very different eyes about it. From my quick research, it appears this book sold more copies than The Autobiography of Malcolm X, and I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. Combined. Combined! That is a shame.
