Hi, Glenn, I believe many religions have tried to explain race. Some of what you mention are caste systems. No mainline faith has contributed to white racism like Christianity. That’s clear. It was a main thrust and justification. Secondly, when I say white people invented race and racism, I refer to taxonomy, classifications, and the notions of inherent superiority and inferiority — not difference or noticing difference. White people did all of that. White racism is unparalleled. Why are you skipping over all of that history? I find little evidence of race and racism as understood today in the ancient world. My third point is racism is taught. It is not inherent to all humanity, again, that is evidenced by the ancient world. Again, not noticing difference, not having affinities, but the idea of superiority and inferiority, that is taught. White racism is global because white people spread it around the globe. To return to your earlier point, even if you disregard religion and brutality, white racism is unique with its rationalizations. No other form of racism in history compares. That has nothing to do with technology. Again, none of this changes the state of America, where there is no doubt what white people did and do.
