Hi Lecia, I think I see what you are saying. Triggered can be associated with trauma, flashbacks, and PTSD.
The use of triggered here refers to the addiction to hate. This piece is a follow up to my other one about white supremacy as an addiction and the withdrawals:
It is very likely that their addiction to hate is a cover for their trauma (or mental health problems).
That trauma comes from their negative experiences as children, or as adults, or the trauma they cause, and from not POC.
