Hi, Marley, the degree inflation study was in the Harvard Business Review and I think it took positions like secretary and executive assistant and showed that previously hired employees did not have degrees but now they are required. And there was some comparison between job duties and whether a degree was necessary. Degree inflation also has to do with costs. The WSJ also has an article on the subject which wonders whether the ‘disparate impact principle' in hiring practices could apply to those who don’t have degrees for jobs that really don’t require them to do the job. Interestingly, the federal government makes this distinction for federal jobs already.
