Hi Shaunta, being a parent may be a good comparison for religion and patriotism. I am not a parent. But I know discipline, correction, and instruction — in some forms — are necessary parenting skills. And further, sometimes children — at all ages — will raise, change, and take care of their parents. Similarly, as the parents, guardians, and caretakers of democracy and religion, we can do the same. And the country and religion can change, raise, and care for us too. Good thoughts!
