I am so glad to see a post about this subject. I hope for more. I get discouraged by the one niche philosophy because I can’t find one. I guess it’s sort of like being in a relationship vs. going on dates and meeting people.

I’m having a lot of fun bouncing around from topic to topic without being committed to just one. Maybe that’s selfish? Maybe one day I will settle down. But if not, I’m okay.

Like you, I see the merits and the benefits of the one niche writer. Algorithms and people seem to love them.

But I’m more encouraged by someone who writes about a variety of subjects. I like to write just like I read — all over the place.
