I don’t know, Eric. I haven’t seen a rush to judgment in the initial responses from those who condemned the alleged attack. There’s a rush to respond and that’s the right thing to do. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I personally didn’t have words for it in the initial stage. Now, I have shrugged shoulders about this one. Even if there’s nothing to see, there’s plenty to do. Even if this story proved true, would it change anything with hate crimes? No. That’s the real tragedy that serves as the ending for too many stories.
