I really appreciate your last paragraph about “as long as white supremacy.” That being the case, my lack of comfort is evidence of a lack of privilege to some extent or what really should be normal, I guess. I usually think numbers don’t matter as much as power, but this is a reminder that numbers do count and there is a certain power with the presence of people. Separate from white people, you know I also feel this way in groups of men and churchgoing folks to include older-than-me, Black folks. This fight is internal and external. It’s intersectional, and it’s one that’s waged against systems and with yourself too. Thanks for your response, it helped me to expand my thoughts on this subject.
