If we just look at capitalism as a system of power, I tend to believe what I understand of Cedric Robinson’s use of the term racial capitalism. Racism and racialism have always been at the heart of capitalism even in Europe. This suggest racism isn’t a dividing ploy or a justification but it is the core of capitalism. This system is about power but it is also hatred; a superiority that is hostile, lording and hoarding. I think if we look at other systems or aspects of power — patriarchy, for one, it is hatred too. In a simplified way, which matches some religious teachings, if people, or a system, don’t function out of love it is probably hate.
