I’m taking the next few days to respond to comments. Thank you for this one. There are so many great takeaways. You are right, a lot is buried and compartmentalized. I decided to write about it because it came to mind after one of our messages. I couldn’t believe all the incidents I had shrugged off or just learned to live with as a reality. I read another piece on Medium yesterday, I think it was the Queer Take On #MeToo and the person wrote about some of these experiences and much more. I could relate. This was helpful to process in one way, in one place. I hear and agree with you about empathy and waving before those who have had it 10 times worse, and also the individual aspect.
