White supremacy is understood as this bad ideology and system that’s good for white people.
After all, white supremacy in the broadest sense is the superiority of white people.
But, is it possible for white supremacy to be detrimental to white people?
I’d say, white supremacy is not all good for white people either. White people shouldn’t ever think fairness is a favor for the rest of us. White supremacy has bad sides for everyone. And the moral and social consequences of white supremacy are obvious.
But beyond those two facts, I have two other thoughts for this hunch.
First, conflicts start, even among white people, when white supremacy is invalidated.
And second, white supremacy culture presses even white people.
To the first thought, when I look through history with brown skin and dark brown eyes, I can see what happens when white supremacy is invalidated.
White people have gone to war when white supremacy was invalidated.
Our wars overseas have been fought with the children of the nation dying because of white supremacy. We can call them supremacy spats.
