In their efforts to convince other Blacks that the “eating is good” and the “water is great” in the Grand Old Party, some Black Republicans resort to appalling analogies.
It’s one thing to say, “Hey, I’m a Republican because they have the best tax breaks for me.”
It’s another thing to lie or be uninformed about what the Republican Party wants for America and then demean Black Democrats.
To compare the Democratic Party to a plantation slurs the past and the present.
This comparison is insultingly ridiculous. I guarantee no Black person on a plantation ever needed anyone to tell them they were on a plantation. To say Black Democrats are on a plantation is the n-word with the weight of the white party and the harshest R on the end.
If the Democratic Party is a plantation then tell me what the hell is Republican Party? Is the Republican Party indentured servitude? Is it restricted living in the Jim Crow era? I know damn sure it ain’t living free.
Plantations were a coercive cruelty with unspeakable horrors; it’s not a fair comparison.
I accept critiques of the Democratic Party and even the local leadership of Democratic cities, but I want Black Republicans to be honest about the Republican Party.
Honestly, the Republican Party is hard at work to suppress Black voters.
They’ve made gerrymandering a science and a sport. Every year, the Republican Party dispatches new versions of Jim Crow and voter suppression tactics. Court rulings prove what the Republican Party wants to do to Black voters.
Tell me again why I should give my vote and dollars to that?
Honestly, the platform and the opinions of the party are anti-Black.
Are Republicans looking to increase oversight of the police? Nope. Are Republicans looking to make college more affordable or lighten the burden of student loan debt that is heavier on Black graduates? Crickets.
The Republican Party is red for all the wrong and whitest reasons.
White Republicans believe discrimination against whites is a bigger issue than discrimination against Blacks, and white hate groups think the same. This Republican opinion is a problem that turns into policies and it overlooks reality. I can’t register for those alternative facts.
Honestly, besides the platform, we must consider the people in the party.
I need to know who’s throwing the party and who’s attending? When I look at the roster of Republican voters and politicians, I see racists, open racists, and raging racists. Black Republicans must ask themselves why are there hate groups in this party, why are racists running the party, and who’s inviting them?
I’m talking about Donald Trump, David Duke, Richard Spencer, Steve Bannon, Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson, and Sean Hannity. The cast and crew of the Republican Party is gruesome. Stop telling me the grass is greener when you have the oldest and wildest weeds of white supremacy in your yard!
Honestly, the Republican Party also loves its Black stars and spectacles.
But when I gaze at the Black novas giving energy to the white dwarfs, they don’t make me say wow; I say whoa. Candace Owens. Diamond and Silk. Jesse Lee Peterson. Ben Carson. Herman Cain. Clarence Thomas! Those Black Republicans aren’t lodestars to liberty, they’re rubber stamps and cosigners for a racist regime.
If you’re Black and you’re down with white rule, then you can sit at the Republican table. But have you seen the menu? I’m not into social cannibalism.
Honestly, no major political party represents the full interests of Black people.
Liberals give lip-service to equity, but Republicans don’t even open their mouths or have the vocabulary. Please note, those who use primate comparisons are mostly Republicans. So, we must make informed choices, and the Republican Party isn’t the best choice.
America isn’t interested in the free movement of Black bodies. With every advancement, there’s a new iteration and generation of whitelash. The lashings come from all sides. But the lashings are stronger and incessant from the right.
Honestly, the Republican Party functions like a hate group.
This is a party that says diversity isn’t our strength. This is a party terrified over cultural and demographic changes. This is a party that believes in reverse racism. And yet, we haven’t dealt with the first racism. I can’t be a party to that illogic.
To the Black Republicans out there — do you.
I know Black people don’t have to be Democrats. I know we can be anything we want including white supremacists. So, be a Republican; you have enough work to do on your party.
I’m not trying to change you, and you can’t change me. And it’s fine if you’re red at me because honestly — I’m blue for you and the future too.
Between racism and racial hatred, the line is fuzzy at best
And it’s foolish to think they’re so different
Steve Bannon, keep Dr. King out your #!$&* mouth
