Oh, sorry, there was something I wanted to add. I would suggest that we have to maintain this double standard and difference in language with this word because that double standard further highlights America’s racism and injustice. The real problem is that America hasn’t reckoned with its racism. We don’t have a national mandate for antiracism education. America still celebrates white supremacists, and America hasn’t provided holistic reparations for its wrong. So, what good would it be to end the double standard with this word if all the other double standards with racism remain? Again, this double standard exposes the guilt of the nation, and I’m most interested to use that for justice.
