On waves in my hair and colored contacts

Were they stylistic or symptomatic?

Since I turned 40, I’ve made a few trips down memory lane. And two sights in my mind’s eye along the way are waves in my hair and colored contacts.

It was the ‘90s, and I’m not sure what my thoughts were. They were the style, so I did them too. But now, I wonder if they were symptomatic?
