Perhaps. I agree with voting with a wallet and giving tips accordingly. However, if the poor service is selective and specific to Black patrons and we all vote to stay away that is not enough to collapse or change a business that’s still supported by non-Black patrons. Take Cracker Barrel as an example or any of the breakfast diners. Black people have avoided some of those establishments for years. We’ve filed and won lawsuits and settlements. Those franchises and establishments stayed in business because other customers support them. So, just voting with your wallet isn’t enough when you don’t have the numbers. This is an industry problem that creates and sponsors inequality.
