Sure. There are differences. But wait, does every thing have to be 1:1 to make a connection? You dismiss and miss the points. The post is about status change and empathy — that’s really it. It’s not about the “miny moe” of every woe. Some would say ownership and entitlement are a farce in this country — both at the neighborhood and the nation level. Those feelings are a big problem. The other thing you missed in the piece is the call for empathy. White people who gentrify neighborhoods should empathize with the status change at the neighborhood level that Black and Brown people experience. I find it very hypocritical for anyone to complain about the country and culture changing of the nation, and vote as if that’s a problem, while they alter neighborhoods. That’s a point here too.
