Thanks for reading and responding, Eric. My ability to make assumptions about groups of people transfers to other groups and scenarios. This would include groups of straight men and also churchgoing folks to include older, Black people. The heart of this piece is about judging others, prejudice, discomfort, and self-regulation. In the 3 examples — white people, straight people (I assume), and churchgoers, I have met people who didn’t fit my assumptions. Still, this is an ongoing work for me.
