Thanks Marley. That’s an eye-opening experience with that woman. Yeah, my point is if they don’t want their “way of life”, history, and culture changed why aren’t they concerned when that happens to others in the case of gentrification. If they are upset about people taking “their jobs,” how about when people take another person’s house!? How do you think people feel when random shops move in that aren’t needed or relevant and change neighborhoods? I know the answer is privilege and racism, but the questions are ones I’d like them to wrestle with for themselves.
