Thanks, Marley K., I was very nervous to publish this piece. I was concerned it is out my lane. But, since Women’s History Month, I’ve been thinking more about patriarchy. Professor bell hooks in her book Killing Rage: Ending Racism, writes about Black men who speak and write about racism but never critique patriarchy. After reading that, I wrote a few pieces about patriarchy and this is just another side. You said it best, patriarchy is working in too many ways with, for, by, and against too many people.
