There is a difference between the two you mention. Both can be influenced and change over time. There is a scale, a spectrum, and people can choose how they identify. So, I’m not sure I agree with your thought about my gay identity. Most of all, I’ve read studies on prejudice reduction, intergroup contact/friendship, and dominant group fears. Have you?
