There’s no doubt, the times are bad and are likely to get worse. The whole deck is stacked. Pence is a problem and so are the legions of unseen people behind the scenes. The policies and the people bad enough. But Trump incites violence. A violence that may now be inseparable from Pence and the party. Trump weakens institutions. A part of me would feel better if the head of the State changes, even if the body twitches. Without this head, I’d expect the body to lose a great deal of oxygen.
