This is a good piece that rolls up a good deal of data on Trump supporters and Trump voters. There’s no doubt, at every level and age, this was about racism, including 41% of white millennials who voted for Trump. In short, it says Democrats must confront racism with empathetic dialogue. I agree; all this other bait isn’t going to work. Even if by some sorcery Trump voters could be persuaded, if we don’t confront racism, what’s to say they won’t turn if things go sour and another openly racist candidate emerges.
