This is a good word, Lecia. I appreciate writing that’s natural, simple, and conversational. It may be more challenging to write that way. To me, being understood is everything.

My big issue isn’t big words it’s the literary devices and figurative language. I’d like to think it’s my style, haha. But, too much can distract, confuse, and annoy readers, I know. And, those techniques may not seem genuine when used repeatedly.

I think great writers are decisive and control their words. They don’t have to prove, show, do everything or take the easy shots. I’d compare this control to being an athlete or a singer.

I’m not there yet, but I appreciate this reminder.
