This is exactly what I didn’t want to read that someone said. But it must be pointed out as you did. Because it stirs me again.

I want life before liberty, in this order: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

But too many people are still stuck on ‘give me liberty or give me death.’ And that’s why we get so much death. They have it both ways at the expense of others.

But we can’t afford the cost. The price is too great. It will never make sense or go on sale. And, I know this nation can’t afford to pay families for these wrongful deaths. Or acknowledge these deaths as state-sponsored. Talk about a debt owed and a total loss of credit. Unending shame and blame.
