To me, the Jim Crow-like double standard with the use of the word exposes racism. People, especially those racialized as white, need exposure to racism. Regular exposure. Enough exposure to do something about it. And the word, that people who aren’t Black can’t say, says it all. People should spend more time on the dog whistles in life, and the other ways the word is said, felt, and lived by people who aren’t Black.
