What a story and what a message. I went to a few Acquire the Fire events. I read the devotionals. There were 4 girls in my high school who went on mission trips and that was the one thing I wanted to do too. But my parents refused to let me do Teen Mania. They feared it was a cult. I always felt they overreacted because I was born in 1978 a few months before Jonestown. After high school, I got revenge by taking mission trips and traveling. I joined a program called Master’s Commission which wasn’t a good thing for me. I lost touch with Teen Mania. But I have wondered what my life would be like if I had went on a trip with them. This brings me full circle. My parents were right! It’s not too late for me to let my mom know. Wow. Thanks for sharing this story!!!
