Whiteness is a status, an identity, and an ideology. It is nothing but oppression — inherently, always, and only oppressive. Whiteness is based upon the subjugation and denial of Blackness. How do you think people became white? And what is the definition of white? Doesn’t white imply purity and the absence of anything else? Besides being a lie, white is racist. So, you can’t make any comparison like you did between Black and white. The two are different. You can’t substitute. Race is not a horizontal relation. It’s vertical. It’s a white hierarchy. Whiteness as a status and as an identity of oppression has to go. It has to become ineffective and nonexistent in society. The people who call themselves white have to be separated from the status, the identity, and the ideology.
