Yeah, I think this book should be viewed with a critical lens that has been subtle in our culture and insidious. Griffin mentions at the end of the book how he did talks and even though there were Black people in the meeting, the white people deferred to him. He fails to realize how he created that. This was a total stunt. And really an insult. Emmett Till had already been murdered and the world saw his face. We didn’t need a white man to stain his skin. It is a gross attempt at allyship which white people have been screwing up for a long time because they don’t listen. So, the more I discuss this the more angry I become because it is absurd.
