There’s a point in the book when he wonders to himself how the rude lady in a store would feel if she realizes he is white. And throughout the book, he writes as if he is black. But sociology knows that racial identity development is a process. He didn’t have that process in six weeks with dyed skin. The title of the book bothers me too.
